If you are looking for an adventure this summer, then look no further than Walesby Forest. With over 250 acres available to explore in North Nottinghamshire, right in the heart of Robin Hood Country, we provide both adventure and beautiful scenery in equal measure.
Our philosophy is to offer plenty of green space and fresh air to anyone visiting us and with sizeable pitches available, there’s definitely no need for campers to feel cramped. Our motto is “Acres of Fun”, and that’s always our vision for the site.
Activities for all
As a charity with the aim of helping young people to grow their skills and confidence through outdoor activities, we offer a daily programme throughout the summer covering a range of activities including water sports, climbing, target sports and many more.
However, if you just fancy a walk in the woods, a cycle ride along the bridleway, or a game of rounders, football or cricket on the green, then that’s fine with us. Bikes and scooters are a great way to explore Walesby Forest – with a strict enforcement of our driving speed limits on site to keep you safe. We also offer free family movie nights and campfires in the evenings.
Summer of sport
We have a fully licensed bar and restaurant on site with free Wi-Fi and both indoor and outdoor seating, great for watching major sporting events such as Euro 2024, the Olympics and Wimbledon. The bar also hosts karaoke, bingo and quiz nights to keep everyone entertained throughout the evening.
Fancy a dip?
What about the swimming pool? Our solar heated swimming pool is open every afternoon when camping is available with employee lifeguards to keep swimmers safe. The pool is free and included in our camping packages.
Feeling peckish?
What is a summer holiday without a barbecue or fire pit where you can spend time with friends and family? Both are allowed at Walesby Forest as long as they are raised off the ground and the risk of ground fires is low.
Alternatively, our on site restaurant is available with both indoor and outdoor seating. Complimenting the activities is a gift shop selling souvenirs, essential ice creams, fizzy drinks and basic food essentials. We also have two supermarkets within a mile of the site, with delivery to Walesby available.
