Is this venue accessible?
Yes, the venue is accessible. The site is fairly flat with only one minor rise leading towards the lake and then a subsequent drop down to the water edge. However, please note that the roads and paths are rough and not suitable for a standard wheelchair.

Is a lift available?
All of our buildings except Sherwood and Parker lodges are ground floor only, so there is no lift access.

No, unfortunately there isn’t a hearing loop.
Is there an accessible toilet?
Yes, there is one in Kemp lodge and at the camp centre. Please note that we do not have a hoist in either location. You will need a radar key for the camp centre accessible toilet, available from the main office if you do not have one.

Do you have a Changing Places facility on site?
No, unfortunately there isn’t a Changing Places facility on site.
Is there lighting around the whole site?
There is lighting in all buildings and around the camp centre, but beyond the centre there is no lighting.
Can I order drinks and food from my wheelchair in the bar?
Yes, you are more than welcome to do this. Both drinks and meals will be brought to your table.
Are the floor surfaces non-slip?
They are predominantly vinyl in the lodges and shop, vinyl and carpet in the bar, and non-slip in the catering barn.
Is there a quiet area available if needed during the day?
There is no specific area however if you need a quiet space at any point, please contact our duty manager on 07950 614 847 and we can make a place available for you.
Is there accessible public transport to Walesby Forest?
No, sadly there are no buses to Walesby Forest.
Are there pavements and kerbs at Walesby Forest?
No, all roads and paths are level with no kerbs.
Is there accessible parking near the venue?
Yes, we have a customer car park which is 200 metres from the camp centre. There are two speed humps to cross from the car park to the centre.
Is the main entrance easy to recognise, which can be defined by a unique physical feature?
Yes, there is a three metre high road side sign with ‘Walesby Forest’ across the top which is visible from both directions.
Is there clear signage?
Yes, the site and buildings are well signed, and there is a map of the site available from the main office.
Are Service and Guide Dogs welcome?
Yes, Service and Guide dogs are more than welcome to visit Walesby Forest and use our outdoors facilities.
